Acer introduces 8.1 inch Iconia W3 Windows tablet

Acer is introducing the first 8.1 –inch Windows tablet Acer Iconia W3, among other several new Windows 8 PCs today at Computex. Acer Iconia W3 Windows tablet will be available in US by June. The Acer Iconia is an 8.1 inch Windows tablet that is available with an optional keyboard. The Iconia W3 is powered by an Intel Atom Z2760 mobile-optimized processor and weighs around 1.19 pounds and 0.45 inch thick. Iconia W3 has a LED backlit display with 1280x800 screen resolution with 720p video playback. The screen is crisp and bright. The tablet also gives better battery life of up to 8 hours, enough for an all-day work at office. Acer Iconia W3 has Bluetooth4.0, front and rear facing 2 MP Webcams and micro-HDMI and micro-USB among other features. The device also supports 802.11 b/g/n wireless networks. Info and photo of the new Acer Iconia W3 have been released by Acer this week. The 8.1 inch Windows 8 tablet is powered by Intel Atom Z2760 processor. According to Acer, it’s the 1 st Windows 8 tablet that has 8.1 –Inyaov display. The tablet features a 2GB of RAM, and has a battery life for upto 8 hours and 720 p video playback for brilliant display and crisp video experience. The Iconia W3 has 1280x768 touchscreen and upto 64GB of storage. There is a micro SD card and Micro HDMI ports. The Acer Iconia W3 comes with an optional full size keyboard dock. Acer has announced it will be launching the tablet by next month which will be priced at around $379.

Acer is all set to compete with the global Android market with the recent release of its new tablet, which would give the big heads of the tablet market like Apple’s Ipad Mini and the Nexus series from Google, a real headache. Acer has announced the release of Acer Iconia B1, operating on Android Jelly bean OS. The budget android tablet comes with improved design and tweaked with excellent specification after its release Acer Iconia A1. The 7-inch WSVGA Android tablet comes with a display of 1024x600 resolution and is powered by MediaTek quad core processor, speeding it at a 1.2GHz making gaming and browsing experiences faster on this tablet. The device comes in 2 variants 8GB and 16GB storage option which can be then expanded using a microSD to 32GB. The Iconia B1 has a front camera of 0.3VGA, Bluetooth 4.0, IGB  RAM, 3G/Wifi. Acer Iconia W3 Windows 8 tablet

The Amazon Page has made a brief appearance of the 8.1inch Windows 8 tablet which was tagged at $379.99. Amazon hasn’t made a clear statement regarding the release and sale.   According to the Amazon page, the Acer Iconia runs on a dual-core Intel Atom Z2760 processor and is integrated with 64 MB of graphics memory. The tablet also comes with 2MP of cameras and has screen resolution of 1280x800,which is below the minimum 1366 pixel horizontal resolution required to run Windows 8.The tablet is equipped with 3500mAh battery, providing a battery backup of 8 hours.
